David Ring is recognized as one of Southern California's top lawyers in plaintiffs' personal injury litigation. He has obtained many multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of seriously-injured individuals or families who lost a loved one in a tragic accident.
David also represents victims of sexual harassment, assault, abuse or misconduct in cases against employers, schools, churches, or youth organizations. He prides himself on providing aggressive yet compassionate representation for children who have been sexually abused and women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted.
David's areas of specialization include major personal injury, wrongful death, serious motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, construction site accidents, product liability, premises liability, child sexual abuse, and employment actions involving discrimination, sexual harassment, or wrongful termination.
Some of his verdicts and settlements include: an $18.6 million jury verdict on behalf of an injured motorcycle rider; a $10.8 million jury verdict on behalf of a boy who was sexually abused by his teacher; a $4.3 million settlement on behalf of a man who suffered brain damage after being hit by a vehicle; a $2.4 million settlement on behalf of parents whose adult son was killed after being hit by a car; a $2.1 million settlement on behalf of a teenage girl who was seduced into a year-long relationship with her coach; a $1.8 million verdict on behalf of a sales executive who was terminated because of his age; and a $6.8 million settlement on behalf of six boys who were sexually abused by their fourth grade teacher.
David has been repeatedly included in the prestigious Woodward & White's The Best Lawyers in America, and was also selected by his peers and a blue-ribbon panel as one of the "Top 100" Lawyers in Southern California in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 20011 by the Super Lawyers publication.
David has been on the Board of Governors of Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA) since 2005, is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America, and is also an active member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC). He is a frequent speaker at CAALA's annual lawyer convention and also served as one of the convention's co-chairs in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
David currently serves on CAALA's Executive Commitee, as its secretary. He will continue to be elevated to a higher position each year and will become CAALA's President in 2016. CAALA's membership is compromised of over 2700 plaintiff attorneys in Southern California.
CAALA nominated David for its "Trial Lawyer of the Year" award in 2007 and again in 2009.
David graduated "cum laude" from USC in 1987 and "Order of the Coif" (top 10% of his class) from USC Law School in 1990. He has practiced personal injury law in Los Angeles since 1991 and joined forces with John C. Taylor in 2002 to form Taylor & Ring.
