Taylor & Ring Honored with 2019 Elite Trial Lawyers Award

Taylor & Ring is proud to announce that our firm has won the 2019 Elite Trial Lawyers award, presented by the National Law Journal.

Taylor & Ring won in the “Other” category, because the plaintiffs’ work we do often defies specific classification. Instead, our work spans multiple categories: injury law, civil litigation, civil rights, and so forth. We have worked hard to be among the nation’s leading law firms for our work in civil sexual abuse and sexual assault litigation, and are honored to be recognized for this achievement by one of the premier organizations in the country.

About the Elite Trial Lawyers List

Per The National Law Journal, “The lawyers and law firms selected this year have demonstrated repeated success in cutting-edge work on behalf of plaintiffs over the last 18 months. They also possess a solid track record of client wins over the past three to five years.”

Over the past 18 months, Taylor & Ring has secured some of the largest verdicts and settlements in the nation, including two listed in The National Law Journal’s list of Top Verdicts for 2018:

  • $45.4 million in M. v. County of Los Angeles, on behalf of young woman who, as a child, was repeatedly molested by multiple men between 2010 and 2012. The County of Los Angeles and the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) were held liable for part of the verdict.
  • $25.3 million in Stephen W. v. Westerly School of Long Beach, on behalf of a young man who was sexually abused by a teacher at the prestigious Westerly School. The jury found the school liable for failing in its duty to keep our client safe.
  • $8 million against the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, on behalf of our client who was abused and kidnapped by an employee at San Gabriel Mission High School. It was the largest individual settlement ever paid by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to a victim of sexual abuse.
  • $5 million settlement against the Los Angeles Unified School District, on behalf of a young woman who was sexually abused by her math teacher. It was the largest individual payout in LAUSD’s history.

We are honored to be recognized by the National Law Journal once again for the work we are doing. We will continue to fight on behalf of our clients, and to do the important work that keeps the justice system strong.
