Congratulations to Rising Stars Brendan P. Gilbert and Natalie Weatherford! Taylor & Ring is proud to announce that associates Brendan P. Gilbert and Natalie Weatherford have both been named to the 2018 Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list! Both Brendan and Natalie were selected for inclusion for their work in the area of Plaintiff Personal Injury. This is Brendan’s third consecutive year, and Natalie’s fifth consecutive year, being named to a Rising Stars list.

What is Rising Stars?

Just like the annual Super Lawyers list honors respected and experienced attorneys, Rising Stars honors those attorneys who have either been in practice for 10 years or fewer, or who are age 40 or younger. The selection process for Rising Stars is exactly the same as it is for Super Lawyers – attorneys are nominated by their peers, submitted to rigorous vetting and evaluation processes, and selected for inclusion. Only 2.5% of practicing, eligible lawyers in any given area are chosen for the Rising Stars list.

Meet Natalie Weatherford

Natalie Weatherford is a skilled trial lawyer who primarily focuses on representing victims of sexual abuse, harassment and misconduct. She also handles cases involving civil rights violations, as well as personal injury claims. Since joining Taylor & Ring, Natalie has been involved in multiple high-profile lawsuits, securing substantial verdicts and settlements on behalf of her clients:

  • $25 million verdict for a sexual abuse case against Westerly School in Long Beach
  • $14 million settlement for a sexual abuse case against Moraga School District
  • $8.05 million verdict in a sexual abuse case against Pomona Unified School District
  • $1.1 million verdict for a client who sustained a back injury after being rear-ended

Natalie writes for The Advocate, and is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Association for Justice, and the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, where she serves on the Board of Governors, and has been the Co-chair of the Public Affair’s Media Outreach Subcommittee since 2015. In 2016, she was a CAALA “Rising Star” Finalist for Trial Lawyer of the Year.

Meet Brendan P. Gilbert

Brendan Gilbert has second chaired multiple personal injury jury trials while at Taylor & Ring, as well as worked on cases that resulted in seven figure settlements. This includes a $5 million global settlement obtained on behalf of a victim of childhood sexual abuse against Big Oak Flat-Groveland Unified School District and Paso Robles Joint Unified School District. He handles personal injury cases involving the sexual abuse of minors, sexual harassment and assault, products liability, and automobile collisions.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Gilbert obtained a near seven figure award as the lead attorney following a personal injury arbitration, in which liability and damages were disputed. He also engaged in extensive appellate advocacy, including filing numerous briefs with the appellate court.

All of us at Taylor & Ring are very proud of Natalie and Brendan, to the contributions they make to our firm, and to the work they do on behalf of our clients. Congratulations to you both!
