David M. Ring and Natalie Weatherford Coauthor Article Featured in October Issue of the Advocate
In the October 2015 issue of the Advocate, Partner David M. Ring and Attorney Natalie Weatherford coauthored the article, “Seven key evidentiary issues in sexual assault, abuse and harassment cases”. The article discusses the plaintiff’s “consent” and sexual history out of evidence while bringing a defendant’s related criminal matters into evidence.
Mr. Ring and Ms. Weatherford discuss the two most common defense tactics used against plaintiffs-that they either “consented” to the abuse by putting themselves in a position to be abused or that they “consented” to the abuse and therefore should be comparatively at fault.
