Lawdragon is a renowned legal media company, which published in-depth reports on legal issues affecting the country. It also releases the annual 500 Leading Lawyers in America magazine, “the most elite distinction in the profession, covering the best of the best in all practice areas.”

We are proud to announce that partner David M. Ring has been named to the Lawdragon 500 for the second year in a row. This year’s issue includes an interview with David regarding his work with sexual abuse victims, including the Marlborough School case, as well as the firm’s work on behalf of personal injury victims.

We invite you to read the entire piece here.

Advocating for the injured for 27 years

When David Ring first started practicing law, he worked across the aisle, as an insurance defense attorney. As he told Lawdragon, he gained valuable insights and experiences – but it only took him a year to realize it was not what he wanted to do. That is why, for the last 27 of his 28 years as a trial attorney, he has worked on behalf of the injured in California.

Since then, Taylor & Ring has tackled some of the most complex, high-profile cases in the state. David has built a national reputation for himself for his work with sexual abuse victims.

David’s case against the Moraga School District, which ended with a $14 million settlement for his clients, earned him California Lawyer’s award for “Personal Injury Attorney of the Year” in 2015. That same Year, Vanity Fair did an in-depth report on the Marlborough School, and called David “California’s go-to attorney for sexual abuse victims.” In 2017, Nightline interviewed David for their special investigation into sexual abuse in schools, called “Passing the Trash.”

Though David is known for his work on behalf of abuse victims, he, partner John C. Taylor, and the firm’s associates have done significant work on behalf of personal injury victims, as well. Their clients, some of whom sustained life-altering injuries, were awarded substantial verdicts and settlements in their lawsuits. Some of those cases include:

  • A $57 million verdict for a bad faith action which left three men dead after an aviation-related accident
  • An $18.6 million verdict for an injured motorcyclist
  • A $14.4 million verdict for the victims of a chain-reaction crash with a truck, leading to the deaths of two people, and permanent brain injury for another
  • A $13 million verdict for a trucker driver who was crushed by a forklift, rendering him paraplegic
  • An $8.75 million verdict for the family of an unarmed man who was shot to death by LA County Sheriffs.

All of us at Taylor & Ring wish to say “Congratulations!” to David Ring for making the Lawdragon 500 list once again. He is certainly deserving of the honor.
